THANK YOU FOR 40 WONDERFUL YEARS

After four decades of styling hair, sharing stories, and making memories, I will be closing the salon for the final time on Saturday 23rd August 2025 as I begin my retirement.

When I first opened 40 years ago, I had a pair of scissors, plenty of enthusiasm, and the hope of making people feel good when they left the chair. Since then, I’ve welcomed generations of families, celebrated life’s milestones — from first-day-of-school haircuts to weddings — and sometimes just listened on an ordinary Tuesday.​

To my wonderful customers, past and present, thank you for your loyalty, friendship, and trust. You’ve shared your hair, your stories, and often your secrets with me — an honour I’ll never forget.

​

To my family — my wife Jean and daughters Jane and Claire — thank you for your love and support. The best part of retirement will be more time with you and my grandchildren. About 20 years ago, I was joined by my daughter Vivienne, and working alongside her has been one of my greatest joys. She has brought her own talent and warmth, and together we’ve shared proud moments as father and daughter.

To my staff, my second family: Brian from the very beginning, Fiona for over 30 years, and Claire, Megan, and Kerys in more recent years — thank you for your skill, support, and friendship. Watching you grow from apprentices to talented stylists has been a privilege. And to all who worked here over the years, the salon would not be what it is without you.

Finally, to our community and fellow businesses, thank you for your support and camaraderie.

It has been a joy, a privilege, and an unforgettable chapter of my life. I retire with a full heart and countless fond memories.
